WorkSafeBC amended the Occupational Health and Safety Regulation relating to first aid on November 1, 2024. RCABC is excited to host this Virtual Member Session to discuss the impact of these changes on our members. The RCABC Roofing Industry Safety Council (RISC) provided input to our speaker about issues and topics of interest for RCABC members.
This session will give you an overview of the new First Aid requirements and will focus on:
- First Aid Essentials
- First Aid Compliance
- Emergency Rescue from Heights
About the Presenter:
Elyse Taylor, Health and Safety Professional
Elyse Taylor is an accomplished health and safety professional with extensive expertise in various industries, including oil and gas, construction, and healthcare. With many years of hands-on experience as an OFA oilfield medic and an occupational health and safety manager, Elyse understands the unique challenges employers face in meeting their legislative and ethical health and safety responsibilities.
Elyse currently serves as the Vancouver Island Regional Safety Advisor (RSA) for the British Columbia Construction Safety Alliance (BCCSA). In this role, she assists BC construction employers in developing and implementing safety systems and processes that align with BC COR audit standards and WorkSafeBC compliance requirements.
Elyse’s passion extends beyond the technical aspects of safety management. She is deeply invested in company culture development and excels in designing efficient systems to simplify safety and organizational processes. As a dedicated resource, Elyse actively engages with workers, employers, and industry, leveraging her expertise to contribute positively to workplace safety and overall organizational well-being.
